Established in 1989, JMA Forensics is a consulting firm that specializes in the analysis and evaluation of the processes found in the investigation of questionable, wrongful or criminal deaths. JMA also provides training to medico-legal death investigators, law enforcement personnel, emergency medical technicians and students majoring in criminal justice or forensic science programs. The founder and principal consultant, J. M. Adcock, brings over 33 years of experience to every evaluation and lecture. His clients include law enforcement agencies, coroners, medico-legal investigators, attorneys and individuals who have questioned the investigative results of the death of a loved one. During 2006 there were nearly 16,000 murders in the United States. In spite of the valiant efforts of law enforcement only about 61% resulted in an arrest, leaving 39% unresolved. On another note research has shown that in about 95% of the time the perpetrator has appeared in the case file within the first 30 days of the investigation without being recognized as such by the police. So why aren't more cases solved? A lot of reasons have caused this phenomena. Besides the usual sociological concerns like drugs, gangs and poverty, some are not accurately resolved due to bad identifications, faulty science and the forming of tunnel vision by investigators. With all that in mind please review the pages of our website and if you have any questions, feel free to email us at any time.
